Myanmar Travel Tips – Communication, Business hours and Others

 Communication 

• The telephone communication is the most widely used communication method in Myanmar. Overseas calls are available at hotels and telephone offices with IDD connection. There are a lot of internet cafés in Yangon, Mandalay and other cities and some hotels will provide Internet access. Although GSM mobile system is used in Myanmar at most of the cities, the global roaming is not available.

Business hours 

• Airlines normally open at 09:00 till 16:00, Monday through Friday and 09:00 to 12:00 at Saturday and Sunday for reservation purpose only.
• Government offices open at 09:00 till 16:30 Monday through Friday.
• Most private offices open at 09:00 till 17:00, Monday through Friday and 09:30 till 12:00 on Saturday and Sunday. 

Time Zone

• The Myanmar Standard Time is 6:30 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. 

Electricity

• AC 220 – 240 Volts, 50Hz.
